Seeing that we’re in the month of LOVE, I’ll be focusing on the products I came to love over the past few years.
If you haven’t checked out my hair story yet, you can read about it here and if you want to know what my regimen looks like you can check it out here. If you know me, like in what I post on my blog, you’ll learn that I ain’t got no time for 100’s of products and methods to keep my hair healthy and moisturized. I like to keep it simple and less complicated.
I’ve tried out quite a few products but the one thing I’m always open to try is a good styling product. Something that can help me maintain my hairstyle during the day or just keep my curls from misbehaving. In no particular order, here is my list…
1. Dark and Lovely Afro Moisturizing butter
This is an amazing styling product which I use for my wash and go’s. I have done a full review on the entire Au Naturale range here. Do go check it out.
2. Dark and Lovely Cholesterol treatment.
This one is my go to product when I need a boost in moisture. I use it like a deep conditioner by leaving it on for an hour or so and after I rince it, you can immediately FEEL the difference.
3. Elvive extra ordinary oils conditioner
Although this product is not formulated specifically for natural hair, I still use it to condition my hair. The smell is gorgeous and the glitter particles it leaves behind gives it a pretty sparkle.
5. Coconut oil
Who does not love coconut oil? I cannot live without it. I use it to seal in moisture before styling, I use it as a treatment especially after I use dye on my hair and I use it to add shine. This is an all-rounder product that is not that expensive and accessible in most grocery stores.
6. Olive oil
The best pre-poo treatment ever. If you’re looking for an oil to soften you hair, this is it! This makes washing your hair so much easier. Mixed in your conditioner, it serves as a deep conditioner.
7. Aloe Vera juice/gel
I recently purchased a bottle and I use it in a spray mix that I use to touch up my wash and go in the mornings. Great for curl definition if that is what you want to achieve.
8. Curl Chemistry Curl Defining Cream
This is a newbie and I haven’t posted about it yet but you will soon. All I can say now is…I love it!
