Today I woke up just after 5am, switched on the kettle and made my way to the bathroom. My husband, who was getting ready for work at the time, looked very confused because normally I’m still in Lala land when he leaves for work in the morning. I have planned this last night because I want to get into the habit of waking up at 5am at first and slowly add to my morning routine as time goes on.
While sitting in the bus on my way to work, I awkwardly dosed off a bit cos I had my earphones in my ears but there was no music playing. I then started to listen to a podcast of Oprah and Suzy Amis Cameron called One Meal a Day where she talks about how eating 1 plant based meal a day van save the planet and also improve your health. I’ve tried cutting out meat a couple of years back and it was quite beneficial but it got a bit difficult to keep up with cooking 2 separate meals for my family and I. Listening to this podcast made me want to do it again.
For some reason Friday is my busiest day at the office. It’s like I never even get a chance to go to the loo. I must say that I like it this way because it makes the day go quicker. We were braaing at work today as a way of supporting the Bokke for tomorrow. I don’t watch any sports so it wasn’t something major for me. The only thing I look forward to on Fridays is the fact that I get to knock off at 2pm so my weekend starts rather early.
I was planning to do some washing today because I have to attend the MamaMagic event tomorrow as well as a funeral but I took some work home to finish so I didn’t get to it. I’m hoping to have it done by the end of the weekend. I spent the rest of the evening catching up on some series.
