This post is long overdue. As mentioned in a previous post, I was busy with exam prep for a while and failed to write new content to post on my blog. Yes, I know its a lame excuse because I should just learn to manage my time better but I’m using my exams (that is finally over, let’s hope I pass) as my excuse.
Okay, so my friend over at Chippednailpolish1983 kinda twisted my arm into going to this event because she didn’t want to go alone. With both of us being fairly new to this blogging thing, it was kind of cool to do this together. To be honest, if I were to go alone I would have probably been the one sitting all alone in the corner just staring at everyone from a distance. Haha! So, thanks Angie!!
We were blessed or should I say cursed with some gorgeous weather and when I arrived at the venue (Eat on Main), the majority of the attendees was already there chatting and sipping onto some delicious wine sponsored by Hot Oven Marketing whom also sent us home with a bottle of our own. Just so you know, I’m no wine drinker but like the saying goes, when in Rome, do as the Romans do…and I did.
After chatting to a whole bunch of people that I’ve just met while snacking on our starters, I had my iron levels checked out by one of the Spatone consultants who supplied me with a month’s supply of iron supplements to keep my iron levels in check. The sachets are so easy to use, just pop it some orange juice and there you go! Another cool thing was BrandRocket. What a cool concept. Take some pics, post it to social media using the specified hashtag, in this case #CTMeetUp and all your pics are branded and ready to print from this machine.
Just before lunch was served, our speakers was ready to offer us some valuable advice on how to get this blogging thing down. This was so perfect for me as I am still in the beginning stages of finding my niche, building a brand and getting to know how everything works in the blogosphere. Thanks to Ruan Fourie and Samantha Wright who made some interesting points on how things like consistency, newsletters and knowing your worth as a blogger can impact your blog.
Cindy Alfino, what an incredible host. Everything was so well-planned. From the delicious food to the speakers and all the sponsors. Last but not least, the goodie bags, what a treat! African Extract Rooibos range, Satiskin shower gel, Revlon Ultimate All in One mascara(my new favourite), Almay eyeliner, Enjoy bath and body lotion(so delicious you are tempted to eat it) and many more.
Next year I will probably be the first to book my ticket for this event and for all the Cape Town bloggers out there that missed out, do make sure that you attend the next one.
Till later.
