Kidloland app review
My brother in-law works at sea, 8 weeks at home and 8 weeks on the open seas. Scary but he’s so used to it already, he’s been doing it for the last 20 years. Every couple of months, when he returns from sea, this is how the conversation between him and Jody goes:
Jody: Uncle Nathan, do you have game on your phone?
Nathan: No I don’t have any games on my phone Jody.
Jody: Now show me? (wants to see if Uncle Nathan is telling the truth)
Nathan: (takes out his phone & slides through all the screens) Can you see?
Jody: Okay, come I show you where the games are.
(Nathan, hands over his phone to see what Jody is referring to)
(Jody goes straight to Google Play)
Jody: Can you see, here is all the games, you just have to download them.
It is no secret that Jody loves playing games on whoever is willing to hand over their phones until their battery dies, phones. We have also taught him how to switch and log on to our desktop computer, enter the password (which he remembers always) and also how to properly shut it down without pressing the power button. His favorite thing to do is using the paint tool to draw images of all the cartoon characters he loves.
When we were asked to review the Kidloland app, I was kind of skeptical if he would be interested in the activities or not. I was quite surprised with his reaction because he was instantly glued to the tablet. I sometimes found him in the living room with the tablet propped up against a cushion, dancing and singing along to the tunes.
About the app
The app contains 1000+ nursery rhymes, songs, stories, activities and games for kids under 5 years old. The nursery rhymes are interactive and your child will not be able to sit still while listening to the catchy tunes. They also have a fun way of introducing the ABC’s using songs and images that kids can relate to. Tracing with their little fingers over the letters on the screen, is how they are taught to identify and write the letters of the alphabet. All the activities are design to educate you child through play, teaching them to concentrate and finish tasks.
My overall feel about the app is that it’s a great tool to introduce to your child without the feeling of giving them too much screen time. I’d definitely recommend it to all moms who are looking for something educational but also fun to keep their little ones entertained and occupied from time to time. I mean, all mom’s could do with some time off every once in a while.
